It's a Green Day

Digg!
Happy Friday everyone! What a week it has been. Poor little Sawyer does have roseola. His rash broke out yesterday. At least his high fever's are over with. He has been so pitiful this week and has wanted to snuggle a lot. The doctor says his rash should be over with by Monday at the latest.

Now for the Fabulous Favorite Friday Pick

Today's Fabulous Favorite Friday's Pick is a green item. The reusable grocery bag. One of my local grocery stores sell's bags just like this one for 99 cents. And, I believe they give you a 5 cent credit or something when you use your bags. These bags totally rock. Of course they are great for groceries, but they hold a lot of stuff. We are headed to the beach this weekend, so I have 3 of them to pack some of our stuff in them. I love how they hold a lot. I think Wal Mart should get on this band wagon because I hate coming out of there with a ton of plastic bags. Now, the trick is for me to remember to put these bags in my car.

Here is a link to the company that sells these bags. I don't know anything about them and I didn't check the price. I just wanted to show y'all an example of the one I have. The thing that is great about this bag is that is expands and it actually holds more than a brown paper bag. It's very handy.

Ok, so I mentioned we are headed out to go to the beach. I'm hoping to blog, live from the beach next week barring any technical difficulties. So, if y'all don't see any posts it means our Internet access wasn't working.
I hope y'all have a great weekend!

Easter Turkey and Roseola

Digg!
A quick update. I took my little guy to the pediatrician's this morning and they think he has roseola. Bless his heart, he has been so pitiful. I have been up two nights in a row with him. I honestly don't know how I'm functioning, but somehow I am. Last night he scared me because his temperature got to 104.4 and he has never had one that high. Thank goodness for Motrin. We were able to get it down. He is still running a little bit of a temperature today, so I guess we will see if the rash starts to appear tomorrow. Since he has been so sick, I kind of hope it is roseola so we don't have to worry about him catching it again. Bless his heart. It is so hard to see them so sick and pitiful.

I took a picture of my 21 pound turkey I cooked for Easter. I think Martha would have been proud. When I first got married, my mother in law told me she always does turkey's in the roaster bags. I was telling a friend on the phone the other day that I use the roaster bags and she hadn't seen them, so I took a picture of the box in case any of y'all have never used them. I have always had great luck doing turkey's in the roaster bag. You can see the bird was so tender the drumsticks just came right off.

Everyone thought the sides came out great. I think I might enjoy them better than the turkey. I bought Rhodes brand frozen yeast rolls that you let rise and I had awesome luck with those. I think I could make a whole meal out of good yeast rolls. All slathered with butter (I know bad, bad for you). But mmm, they are so good.

I'm going to end my post for now. I need rest. I hope to check back in soon. I hope y'all had a wonderful Easter holiday.

Taking a break today

Digg!
The Chic Crafty Chick has been up all night with a sick little guy, so I'm taking the day off from the blog and will try to check in tomorrow. My little guy has been running really high temperatures. I'm afraid it may be another ear infection. I am going to try to get us into the pediatrician's office first thing in the morning.

Hope y'all are having a good week.
