Bootiful Halloween Decorations

Digg!
As you can see from today's post, I've been busy over the last few weeks.  I've had a number of different appointments, but I've also found time to decorate for Halloween. I wanted to share my decorations with you.  You can easily decorate for different holidays without breaking the bank.  Some of my decorations are new, while others I've had a few years.  I recommend starting out with a budget and adding to your display each year.  It is also nice to change things up from year to year.

It wouldn't be Halloween without my Peanuts gang Great Pumpkin wreath.  I got these supplies about 2 years ago at Michael's.

This is one of my new decorations. I bought 2 of these topiary holders to flank the front door.  The wrought iron looking holder is from Better Homes and Gardens.I found them in the garden section for $7.  I didn't want to put live plants in my pots, so I filled them with floral foam and put fake moss and pumpkins on top.  I have really enjoyed these and the little pumpkins show a nice pop of color from the street.

These scarecrow friends greet our guests. They are sitting in little adirondack chairs I bought for the boys years ago. My dad did some work on them and fixed them up, so I didn't want them out in the elements. So they are on the front porch and the boys loving seeing the scarecrows in them.

I got this wooden pumpkin at Ross last year and it rates up there as one of my favorite Halloween decorations.

These cats are a purrrfect addition to our front foyer.  I got them in the Target dollar spot this year.  Can you see my Boston Terrier, Miss Zoe, peeking out?  She matches the decorations. LOL

We have a box to help boost up our Giant Great Pumpkin who glows in our front window.  We used a table cloth to cover the box.  And that cool Trick or Treater we got a number of years ago at Target.  The cat I snagged at Kroger after Halloween last year.

I got these spiders at Dollar Tree last year and the spider web on sale after Halloween last year. My boys have loved having them in our kitchen.

Here is my kitchen bay window.   I got those pumpkins in the windows at Dollar Tree and the felt garland came from Target a year or two ago.  All of those little solar folks in the windows came from Dollar Tree.

These last two pictures are of my fireplace mantle.  I put all kinds of little nick nacks up. I especially love pumpkins and have picked some up at different places.  My husband thinks that the black cat that is the mascot for fireworks is hilarious, so over the last few years I've picked up some black cat decorations as I've seen them.  The sparkley cat in the second picture was in the Target dollar spot this year.

So there is a peak at my Halloween decorations.  Do you decorate for Halloween?  If so, do you have a theme?

Halloween Decorations

Digg!
Today I thought I'd share some pictures of some of my Halloween decorations on my front porch.  I like to decorate with things like pumpkins and scare crows so the decorations are fall festive without being scary.
The first picture is a big shot of my front porch.  I love having different types of pumpkins.
This second picture gives you a side shot of the little scarecrows I have in the little adirondack chairs.  The big planter has pansies and a scarecrow in it.  That crazy looking vine behind it goes around my doorway to frame it and it has white lights in it. I love it and sometimes keep that up through Thanksgiving. I want to add more fall decorations to that vine garland, but I haven't had time yet.
This pumpkin is my new favorite item. He is painted wood and looks so rustic.  I got him at Ross.
This is a picture of the Charlie Brown wreath I made last year.  They had these foam shapes in a big pack at Michael's last year.  I didn't even use half the pack to make this.  I hot glued them on so they would stay and the wreath still looks great going on year 2.  It wouldn't be Halloween without The Great Pumpkin.  I am a huge Charlie Brown fan.
And this is the scariest decoration I have outside. I have a big spider on each of our lights.

Do you have any great Halloween or fall decorations at your house?  Leave a comment and let me know. I'd love to see if you've shared any of your pictures on your blog.

Hope you are having a great day in your neck of the woods!

Halloween Decorations

Digg!
Today I thought I'd share pictures of my Halloween/Fall decorations. The lighted vine I have around my door I got at Garden Ridge a few years ago.

This is my scarecrow collection. I had no idea what I was going to do with them and then I got the idea of putting them in the hay bale since they come on those long sticks.

I love having this lighted garland because I'll keep it up even after Halloween until we are ready to put up our Christmas lights. Since it gets dark earlier with fall getting here, I love having some lights around the doorway. It makes things so cheery. By the way, I used clear 3M hangers to hang this around the doorway. I bought the pack of 18 at Michael's that hold 1/2 a pound each. They've worked great and are easy to take down when you are finished using them.

This is my new wreath I made this year. I bought all the supplies at Michaels. The Charlie Brown/Peanuts pieces are foam. The container I bought that contained these shapes had a ton of different shapes and characters. I am trying to think of more crafty things to do with them. We are huge Peanuts fans here so I'd love to use more of them to make something else. It was easy to make this wreath because I hot glued the foam pieces on. The pieces have a piece of paper you peel off to reveal a sticky back, but I knew they probably wouldn't stay on the wreath as well, so I opted to hot glue them. I'm very blessed that my mother in law didn't mind making my bow for me. She is a great bow maker and I can't make one to save my life. I thought the black gingham would tie all the pieces together.

So this is how I've decorated the front of my house for Halloween. Do you have any fun decorations up?

Hope you are having a great day in your neck of the woods.
