Flavor of the week

Digg!
I am an ice cream junky. Ice cream is probably one of my top favorite desserts. This week I decided to get some peach ice cream. As hot as it has been, ice cream has been a refreshing treat.

If you've never had the chance to visit a Bruster's ice cream and you are near one, be sure to stop by. They have the best selection of flavors. We went a week ago and I had my heart set on some coconut ice cream, but they didn't have it that day. (They switch flavors every day). But, I did have a cone of their key lime pie ice cream. Yum! It has pieces of graham cracker crust in it. Another favorite that I like that is usually a fall selection is the apple pie ice cream. It has chunks of real apple pie in it. How can you not like that?

We discovered at Bruster's since our little guy is so small, they give him a dish of free ice cream. And, they also give free ice cream to you pup. Miss Zoe, our boston terrier, loves having a dish of the vanilla ice cream. We are usually very strict with her diet, but occassionally she gets ice cream as a special treat. It can be difficult at home if you open the freezer door. That pup will come running. LOL

I checked out the Bruster's website because I wanted to post a link in case you want to search and see if there is one close to you. http://www.brustersicecream.com/ When I did, I did a quick search under Bruster's apparel. Lo and behold they sell a candle that smells like waffle cone. I wonder if I would like that? Is it too much of a good thing? With my luck, I'd just want to eat more ice cream with that smell. LOL

I hope you all are having a great week and staying cool. We are trying. Yesterday marked week 18 in this pregnancy. We are still trying to decide on a name for this little guy. We've got some narrowed down. Hopefully we will have something soon.

Have a great week. I hope to check in if not tomorrow, then definitley Friday for my Fabulous Favorite Friday post.

Happy Anniversary to me!

Digg!
It is hard to believe that 7 years ago today I got married. Where does the time go? Who would have guessed that we'd have one sweet little boy and another one on the way. I'd never guess that I'd be happier today than I was on our wedding day. I love my husband and our sweet little family so much. I feel very blessed.

My husband took the day off to spend with me and my mom has been visiting to take care of our little guy. We don't go out that often, so it was nice to spend time together. We finally made it to the movies to see Prince Caspian, the second of the Chronicles of Narnia movie. We loved it. It was way better than Indiana Jones. And, this is a movie that I'd recommend seeing on the big screen. It was great. Since the temps were close to 100 today, going to the movies was a great thing.

We went to a restaurant we'd never been to before and were very disappointed. The service was great, but the food wasn't good. But, that was ok because the rest of the time was very nice.

So, that is what has been going on in my world today. I hope you've had a great day. Stay cool and remember that your pets need some extra water and a cool spot too.

Fabulous Favorite Friday

Digg!

Happy Friday everyone! Another week has flown by. It has been so hot here that all you can do is stay inside and try to stay cool. I like warm weather, but it seems as if we've had not transition from spring to summer.

It is hard to believe that we are now in June already. It is time to break out the lemonade and jump in the pool.
If you are looking for something fun to do in you area, don't forget about picking strawberries. I took my little guy a few weeks ago before the hot weather kicked in and it was fun. We got some great strawberries. It just isn't summer for me without some fresh strawberries.

My Fabulous Favorite Friday pick is something that I usually don't think about until Christmas, but I saw Martha Stewart doing a segment about cherries and this popped in my mind. At Christmas, we have a local craft show that this company, Cherry Repulican comes to. They have fabulous cherry products. Every year for probably the past 7 years, I have purchased the Cherry Republic soar candies for my husband. It has become a tradition. Basically, they are just like soar patch kids, but they are cherry flavored. I get a bag of these and stick them in his stocking.
But, Father's Day is next weekend and I thought I'd mention it on my blog this week in case you are still searching for something unique to get your father. Not only do they have these great candies, but chocolate covered cherries, fabulous salsas and other great cherry flavored products. I highly recommend these. They have given out samples of their products at the craft show and I haven't met a cherry product of theirs that I didn't like. So, I highly recommend. Here is a link to their website. http://www.cherryrepublic.com/
A few weeks ago I posted a book review for this book. I wanted to let y'all know that I saw that is in Target stores if any of you are interested in picking up a copy. You've gotta love the Tarjay.
Well, that's all for this week. I hope to get more posting in next week. This week was filled with doctors appointments and so far so good with the little boy bun in the oven. My specialist is very pleased and the next few weeks will show whether or not my cervix is shortening. Hopefully not. Now my challenge is to get our spare bedroom cleaned out and to figure out a name for this little guy.
Have a great weekend!
