Kroger Cart Buster Event

Digg!
I don't know about you, but I've been so disgusted with the recent jump in gas prices.  I've been looking at other ways to cut down on our expenditures and one way is through our grocery bill. So, I was excited when I was contacted by the folks at MyBlogSpark and Kroger to see if I'd want to participate in Kroger's Cart Buster Savings Event.  This event is going on February 27th through March 12th at the Kroger family of stores including: Kroger, Ralph's, King Soopers, City Market, Dillon's, Smith's, Fry's, QFC, Baker's, Owen's, Jay C Food Stores, Hilander, Gerbes, Food4Less, Pay Less Supermarkets, and Scott's Food & Pharmacy.

I love shopping at Kroger and check their ads weekly. I'm excited that this cart busters event has a lot of the brands I like.  Some of the brands you can check out include: Multigrain Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Pillsbury, Betty Crocker, Hamburger Helper, Yoplait, Progresso, Totino’s, Green Giant, Cascadian Farm, Tide, Charmin, Bounty, Pampers, Pantene, Crest, Iams, Febreze, Old Spice, Bounce, DiGiorno’s, Nestle Toll House, Juicy Juice, Coffee-Mate, Edy’s, Stouffer’s, Lean Cuisine, Hot Pockets, Nestle Candy, Purina and many more! I can't wait to get into Kroger this week to stock up on some of these great products.

During this event they've got a really cool Deal of the Day event going on.  The first 1000 people who click the deal link and receive a free load-to-card coupon for the featured daily item. Kroger Cart Buster Event I'm all about using coupons, so I can't wait to take advantage of this great feature.

I'm excited that today you have the opportunity to win a $25 gift card that you can use at the Kroger family of stores.  You have 5 opportunities to enter. You must post separate responses to this thread for each entry to count. You must also include your email address so I have a way to contact you. Top Chef

Digg!
Ok, so earlier I mentioned I've been watching Top Chef All Stars. I have really enjoyed watching this season and seeing all of the different folks compete. I'm pleased that out of those left, I like most of them and can't wait to see who wins.

I have also enjoyed the various guest judges they have had. Who doesn't love Paula Deen and Isaac Mizrahi?

Happy Valentine's Day

Digg!
So last night I snuck out to my husband's car and left him a card and a stuffed Boston Terrier in the driver's seat.  The card is really funny with a boston terrier on it.  He loves it when I find cards with boston's on them.  That is just one of a couple of surprises I have planned.  I've really tried to take some time this year to come up with a few things for him. So hopefully he will have a great Valentine's Day.

Today I wanted to share about a cool product I recently got to try.  The folks at MyBlogSpark and Yoplait sent me a coupon to try one of their frozen smoothies. I didn't even know they existed, so I was really excited when presented the opportunity to try one for myself.  I love smoothies, but I never have time to make them.  I'm just not always organized, or have the time to cut up fruit ahead of time and mornings are pretty busy trying to get out the door to preschool. So when I saw there was a smoothie that all you had to do was put in the blender and add milk, I was all on board to give it a try.

I was able to find these smoothies at my local Kroger store with the frozen fruit.  They come in four flavors: Blueberry Pomegranate, Triple Berry, Strawberry Banana, and Strawberry/Mango/Pineapple. I tried the Strawberry/Mango/Pineapple and it was delicious.  The only thing is I think I should have added a bit more milk than what the packaged instructed because I found the smoothie really thick. I like thick smoothies, but it would have been a tad easier to drink if I'd added more milk.  I am not a big milk drinker so I love being able to get that calcium through a smoothie, as well as having fruit. Yum.

Here is a picture of my smoothie in my "mom" Tervis Tumbler.  Gosh, I love my Tervis Tumbler.

So with this being Valentine's Day, let's have a giveaway. Because who doesn't love winning something awesome? The good folks at MyBlogSpark and Yoplait have offered up a fabulous prize pack so you too can try one of these great smoothie flavors. The prize pack you will win will contain an VIP coupon to try a Yoplait Frozen Smoothie, a drawstring backpack, a water bottle, and a fitness journal.

You have 5 opportunities to enter. You must post separate responses to this thread for each entry to count. You must also include your email address so I have a way to contact you. This giveaway will end at midnight EST on Sunday, February 20th. The winner will have 24 hours from when I contact them to get in touch with me, otherwise I will draw another name.

This winter just continues...

Digg!
I haven't been blogging a lot this week because it has been a rough week.  I was at the doctor yesterday to get medicine for a sinus infection I've had for 3 weeks. Then we wake up this morning and my oldest says his ear hurts so we are off to the doctor for him. And for good measure the little one has had a stuffed up nose since last week so he is getting seen too.  It is copay crazy here in these parts.

I'm really excited I've got two great products to share with you and giveaways for them.  I'll be starting one of them tomorrow.  I hope you are having a great week.

I'm yearning for spring

Digg!
I think it must be the constant yo-yo I'm feeling with the weather that is making me yearn for spring and planning some light gardening.  I know that I can't do anything here until probably late April, but it is nice to think that winter is almost over.

I did get crazy the other day and bought a really cool hanging basket stand at Wal Mart.  They have some really beautiful Better Homes and Garden products. I've learned the hard way if you see something cute like that then you better buy it when you see it because it won't be there as the weather gets warmer.  Of course they are calling for a chance of snow showers here tomorrow evening, so much for warmer weather.

I'd love to start some seeds inside, but trying to find a place where little hands can't get in the dirt is a challenge.  I think the boys would enjoy helping and watching seedlings grow.

So, do you yearn for spring and gardening? What are you planning once the weather finally turns warm and stable?

Ground Hog Day

Digg!
Ok, so I had intended on posting something earlier today and then life got in the way and here it is later than I wanted to post. But I'm posting. I think spring needs to get here asap.  I've already started seeing cute gardening things appearing in the store and even though the temperature got to over 60 degrees here today, I know you still can't be fooled by mother nature and do anything for a while yet.

But speaking of mother nature, I'm glad to see her pet Mr. Ground Hog didn't see his shadow.  I hope she give his an extra dose of carrots (or whatever ground hogs eat) for being a good boy.

So, that is all from here for now. Hope you are having a great day (or by this time night) in your neck of the woods.

Archer Farms Greek Inspired Chips

Digg!
Chips.  And I don't mean Ponch and his partner. I'm talking about the Archer Farms Greek inspired chips I bought at Target.  They are heaven in a bag. If you like salt and vinegar chips, I think you'll love these. The bag says that they are seasoned with feta cheese and kalamata olives.  I like them because when I've eaten salt and vinegar chips, they are so strong.  But these chips remind me of those with the power turned down and instead of making my tongue want to curl, you can save those tangy flavors.

These chips were on sale at my local Target this week. So if you are making a winter storm survival kit, get yourself a bag of these. I was also intrigued because they had General Tso's flavored chips. If you've tried these, let me know what you think.  Were they super spicy?  That is what kept me from pulling the trigger.  I just wasn't sure if they were hot.

Hope you are having a great in your neck of the woods.
