Happy Anniversary to me!

Digg!
Eight years ago today, I was praying that it wouldn't rain. Because it was eight years ago today that my dad and I rode in a horse drawn carriage to my wedding so I could marry prince charming. I felt like Cinderella in her coach and I was blessed to have a fairy tale wedding. My sweet husband worked so hard on it with me. It will always be a day we remember.

It is funny how when you take your wedding vows you never know how "for better or worse" or "in sickness and in health" will be truly tested over the years. Little did we know that five years into our marriage we would be expecting our first child, only to have me ill in the hospital prior to delivering him and that he would arrive three months premature. After that we didn't know if we would be able to even have another child, only to be blessed with our second wonderful little boy who we were blessed to make it full term. Those things certainly fall into the "better or worse" and "in sickness and health" categories.

Prior to our little angels being born, we took a dream vacation to Hawaii. We both think back fondly on that trip, as well as our trips to the beach, Charleston, and Savannah. We've had good times and hard times, but through it all we've done it together. I know today as I did eight years ago, there is no one else I'd rather be with. I'm blessed to be with my best friend.

So, today we will be out having an adventure with the kids in tow. Sometimes your dreams don't always turn out the way you thought they would. Just sometimes they end up better than you imagined.

Happy Anniversary dh. I love you bunches!

It's fun learning more about you - wow, you had a horse-drawn carriage--that was my dream wedding idea, but none around where we got married! :( I'm very jealous!! :) And I didn't know your oldest was 3 mos premature--wow, that must have been a tough road, but he looks like he's doing great now!!

What a wonderful testament to your marriage. Funny how sometimes what we imagine our life will be like turns out very differently. Your dreams came true in a different and bigger way. Blessings indeed!

Congrats on your anniversary! That's so cool you had a horse drawn carriage. Isn't it amazing how fast time flies and how things turn out?
