Luck O' the Irish to ya!

Digg!

Hey y'all. Happy Monday and Happy St. Patrick's Day! I hope that today is a lucky day for you full of four leaf clovers, parking spaces close to the door, and green lights (hey pretty clever sliding that one in with the green and all - LOL).

We are sporting the green around here. We aren't Irish, but we think it is fun to celebrate. I'd like to give a shout out to my Bunco Pal, Greta who really is from Ireland. So, we'd like to wish that lass a Happy St. Patty's Day. Have a Guiness for us!

I'm hoping to come up with something clever for dinner to celebrate. I found this recipe on the Food Network for Shepherd's Pie, so maybe I'll take a chance and try to make it. I found it on the Food Network website and it is one of Rachael Ray's 30 minute meal recipes. That sounds right up my alley so I don't have to make something too complicated. I also like this recipe because I can use ground beef as opposed to lamb. I like lamb, I grew up eating it because my grandmother was from England and used to cook it for Easter. But, it is nice to have another option in a recipe, especially since lamb can be expensive. http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_22590,00.html

My Luck O' the Irish Give away!

And now, I think it is time to make sure someone has a lucky day/week. I've had some lucky things happen recently and now it is time to pay it forward. So, everyone who posts on this post from now until this Thursday at midnight EST will be entered into a drawing to win a $5 gift card to Starbuck's. Sorry, but this giveaway is only open to those with a U.S. address. I will use a random number generator to pick my winner and I will post the name of the winner in my Fabulous Favorite Fridays post. Be sure to include your email address so that I can get in touch with you. If you don't include your email, you won't be entered into the drawing.
Well, I'm off to get my little leprechaun ready for the day. Happy St. Patrick's Day!!
p.s. I'd love to hear in your posts what you do to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Happy St. Patty's Day! We dress up in green and do our yearly St. Patty's day photo shoot. I'll be posting pictures to my blog later- http://wholarmor.livejournal.com

My great grandparents are Irish. I had my own kilt from Ireland with our family colors and everything.

Hey, I've actually read your blog before, but haven't posted. Sorry! LOL! I have a blog too, so now I know how much comments are appreciated! We don't really do anything special. I'm trying to find a place in my (small) town serving corned beef & cabbage tonight, but no luck so far. I was too lazy to cook it. I'm also going to a girls night out event tonight at 7:00, so we'll see what Irish-y things they offer up! Come check out my blog - I have a giveaway too. :)

We are going to my parents house for corn beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots! i can hardly wait! Not so sure about the green beer tho lol, although I'm sure us lepracauns will be drinkin a wee bit! My friend made a drink up called Mexican Lepracauns. You take a shot glass and pour Half PATRON COFFEE TEQUILA, AND THE OTHER HALF IRISH CREAM, make sure that the liquers are well chilled, they taste better! anyways drink it like shot1 they are very yummy!
I hope you have a nice rest of St. Patty's and sheperds pie sounds yum-o!!
My email addy is dragonflydremer@cox.net but I will not return till Monday from the Easter holiday - can you believe that St.Patty's and Easter are so close this year?!
Take care and thanks for the chance to win!

Fun giveaway! We're not doing anything exciting for St Patrick's Day this year. In previous years we've gone to parades and had a big St Patrick's Day Feast. I, too, am feeling lazy today. Maybe next year!

I love LOVE St. Patrick's Day. Sorry I didn't see your link on 2peas yesterday. I don't know how I missed it. :)

I love your blog, though. I've never been to it before. I try to leave comments whenever I visit a blog, though, because as a fellow blogger myself, I know how much they are appreciated. :)
