Mums the Word

Digg!
Happy Tuesday everyone. Crazy me, I'm up at 3 a.m., yes 3 a.m. because I'm such a dedicated blogger. Ok, maybe not so much. LOL I drank a soda with caffeine after 6 p.m. and so I only slept from 11 to 2 and I can't sleep. So, instead of staying in the bed I snuck downstairs to get my blog post in. I don't get a lot of quiet time these days. Either there is a little one making noise, the dog is whining, or the t.v. is sometimes on in the background. For it to be this quiet and peaceful is unusual. And kind of nice.

Yesterday I decided to embrace the fall weather that I know will be approaching in the coming weeks and I purchased some mums. I love getting mums for my front porch every year. I bought some in a yummy brown and yellow. I noticed a few years ago that the yellow ones were always good to get because they show up nicely from the street with their bright color. So, I usually have those. I noticed they had those neat cabbage plants, but I think I'll wait to get one or two of those later. I went to Lowe's to get mine because I like getting some of the smaller mums since they will expand in a pot. It seems like everyone always thinks of getting mums with Labor Day weekend approaching, so I thought I'd beat the crowd and get mine yesterday before the good ones get picked over. Also, it is still warm here in our area and I'd rather monitor their watering than have the folks at Lowe's drown them.

They had some really cute mums that came in little baskets. They have such a farmer's market look to them. So, if you want something quick and cute for your front porch or entry way, you might want to check them out. I think those ran around $7 a piece.

I am waiting a few more weeks before I pull out my fall table cloths and decorations. If anyone is looking for something cute and inexpensive to dress up their table for fall, Wal Mart has some cute items in. I resisted temptation to go down their seasonal aisle, but I spied some really pretty amber colored glasses. They would be pretty with a dessert in them or I think you could use them for wine drinking.

Well, that's all from here. Hopefully I can fall back a sleep in a while. It is going to be such a fun day running errands on 3 hours of sleep. Oh well, I guess this will get me ready for going back to those middle of the night feedings. Have a great day folks!

Now I'm going to go to Lowes this weekend! I went in a few weeks ago when they were first putting the mums out, but I resisted. I'm also putting out my fall decorations this weekend. It's tradition to do it Labor Day at our house. Plus, I'm so ready for fall at the end of our hot summers.
